Comment choisir entre SC/APC, SC/UPC et LC/APC ?

Regardez la couleur des connecteurs sur votre PTO et votre box : SC/APC = vert (Orange, SFR, Bouygues), SC/UPC = bleu (Freebox, certains équipements), LC/APC = petit connecteur vert (convertisseurs, switches SFP). Commandez un câble dont les deux extrémités correspondent à vos deux équipements.

Le câble transparent est-il vraiment invisible ?

La gaine en nylon transparent de 0.9 mm permet au câble de se fondre dans les décors clairs (plinthes blanches, moulures, encadrements). Il reste visible à proximité immédiate mais discret à distance normale. Pour les murs foncés, un câble de couleur peut être plus adapté.

Peut-on coller le câble transparent avec du ruban adhésif ?

Oui, la surface nylon accepte le double-face et les clips adhésifs. Veillez à ne pas écraser le câble avec un ruban trop compressif. Respectez un rayon de courbure minimum de 5 mm aux angles pour ne pas dégrader la fibre G.657B3.

Quelles longueurs sont disponibles ?

Ce câble est-il compatible avec ma Freebox ?

La plupart des Freebox (Ultra, Pop, Delta, Révolution) utilisent un port SC/UPC bleu côté box et un port SC/APC vert côté PTO. Commandez la référence 19785 (SC/APC → SC/UPC) pour une compatibilité directe avec ces modèles.

Quelle est la perte d'insertion de ce câble ?

L'amortissement d'insertion (IL) est ≤ 0.30 dB et la perte par réflexion (RL) est ≥ 60 dB pour les connecteurs APC. Ces valeurs sont identiques à celles d'un câble fibre blindé standard — la gaine transparente n'affecte pas les performances optiques.

Le câble G.657B3 peut-il subir des angles à 90° ?

Oui, c'est précisément l'avantage de la norme G.657B3 : rayon de courbure minimal de 5 mm, contre 15–30 mm pour un câble G.652 standard. Cela permet de passer des angles vifs comme les coins de plinthes sans risque de cassure ou d'atténuation excessive.

1How do I choose between SC/APC, SC/UPC and LC/APC?

Check the connector colour on your wall socket and your box: SC/APC = green (Orange, SFR, Bouygues), SC/UPC = blue (Freebox, some equipment), LC/APC = small green connector (converters, SFP switches). Order a cable with both ends matching your two devices.

2Is the transparent cable really invisible?

The 0.9 mm transparent nylon jacket lets the cable blend into light-coloured surroundings (white skirting boards, mouldings, frames). It remains visible up close but is discreet at a normal viewing distance. For dark walls, a coloured cable may be more suitable.

3Can the transparent cable be fixed with adhesive tape?

Yes, the nylon surface accepts double-sided tape and adhesive clips. Avoid crushing the cable with overly tight tape. Maintain a minimum bend radius of 5 mm at corners to avoid degrading the G.657B3 fibre.
