Direct attach copper QSFP+ cables are suitable for very short distances and provide a very cost-effective way to establish a 40 gigabit link between QSFP+ ports on QSFP+ switches within racks and between adjacent racks.
QSFP+ are designed to meet the emerging needs of data centers and high-performance computing applications for high-density cabling interconnect systems capable of delivering 40 Gb/s aggregate data bandwidth.
This interconnect system fully complies with the specifications of existing industry standards such as QSFP MSA and IBTA (InfiniBand Trade Association).
QSFP+ cables meet the bandwidth transmission requirements defined by IEEE802.3ba(40Gb/s) and InfinibandQDR(4x10Gb/sperchannel) specifications.
