PoE switch • 4 / 8 / 16 / 24 ports • SFP / SFP+ fiber • Plug & Play

Elfcam PoE switches — power your network equipment directly through the Ethernet cable.

Three ranges for every scenario: PoE Ethernet for simple installations (IP cameras, Wi-Fi APs, VoIP), PoE + SFP fiber for networks with an optical backbone, and PoE + SFP+ 10G for advanced multi-gig architectures. All models are plug & play, silent and in a metal enclosure. Simple connection with a Cat 6 Ethernet cable.

FAQ — PoE switches

1What is PoE and what is it used for?
Power over Ethernet (PoE) lets you power a network device (IP camera, Wi-Fi AP, VoIP phone) directly through the Ethernet cable, without a separate power outlet. A single cable carries both data and power.
2How many PoE ports do I need?
  • 4 ports: 1–4 cameras or APs in one area.
  • 8 ports: equipped home or small office (cameras + APs + VoIP).
  • 16 ports: medium installation (multi-zone, many APs).
  • 24 ports: large installation or multi-storey building.
3What is the difference between Ethernet, SFP and SFP+ models?
  • Ethernet only (7808–7823): copper Gigabit uplinks, no fiber.
  • + SFP (9273/9285/10097): adds 2 × 1.25G fiber ports for optical backbone.
  • + SFP+ 10G (19285/19259): 2.5G PoE ports + 10G fiber uplinks for modern networks.
4Is a 120W total PoE budget enough?
For most installations: yes. An IP camera consumes 5–15W, a Wi-Fi AP 10–25W, a VoIP phone 3–7W. With 120W, you can power 4–8 devices simultaneously without any issues.
5Are Elfcam PoE switches silent?
Yes. All models use a metal enclosure with passive dissipation (fanless) — no fan, no noise. Suitable for home and office environments.
6Can I connect non-PoE devices?
Yes. The PoE ports automatically detect whether the connected device supports PoE. If not, the port operates as a standard Ethernet port without sending any power. No risk to your equipment.
7Which model for Freebox Ultra + Wi-Fi cameras?
The 19285 is ideal: 4 PoE 2.5G ports for your cameras and APs, plus 2 SFP+ 10G ports to connect the Freebox Ultra over fiber at full speed. For copper cabling, consider a flat Cat 8 40 Gbps cable or a flat Cat 7 10 Gbps depending on your needs.
8Are SFP modules required for fiber models?
Yes. Models with SFP/SFP+ ports require optical modules sold separately. See our Optical Modules page to choose the right module based on your fiber type and distance.
