WiFi 7 — why it's a generational leap

Key WiFi 7 technologies (802.11be)

  • 320 MHz channels: double the width of WiFi 6E (160 MHz), for doubled raw throughput on the 6 GHz band.
  • 4096-QAM: denser modulation than WiFi 6's 1024-QAM, +20% theoretical throughput per symbol.
  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO): simultaneously aggregates the 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz bands for ultra-low latency and maximum reliability.
  • Up to 8774 Mbps: combined tri-band throughput (574 + 2402 + 5764 Mbps).
  • Reduced latency: MLO + wide channels = responsiveness for gaming, VR, video conferencing and 8K streaming.

FAQ — WiFi 7 card

1Is my Freebox Ultra / Livebox 6 compatible with WiFi 7?
The Freebox Ultra supports WiFi 7 natively. The Livebox 6 supports WiFi 6E; it will benefit from a throughput improvement thanks to 802.11ax backward compatibility. To fully exploit WiFi 7, a router compatible with 802.11be is recommended.
2Do I need an Intel processor to use this card?
Intel recommends an Intel processor for optimal compatibility with the BE200 chipset. On AMD, the card generally works but some features (MLO, 6 GHz) may require updated drivers. Windows 11 is recommended.
3What's the difference between WiFi 6E and WiFi 7?
  • WiFi 7: 320 MHz channels (vs 160), 4096-QAM (vs 1024), Multi-Link Operation (MLO), max throughput 8774 Mbps.
  • WiFi 6E: already very fast (~2400 Mbps), but without MLO or 320 MHz channels.
WiFi 7 is especially beneficial for gaming, 8K streaming and households with many devices.
4Does the card include Bluetooth?
Yes. The Intel BE200 chipset integrates Bluetooth 5.4, compatible with all BT peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset, IoT). A single PCIe slot for WiFi + Bluetooth.
5Which PCIe slot is required?
The card uses a PCIe x1 slot (compatible with x4 and x16). Any free PCIe slot on your motherboard will work. The M.2 to PCIe adapter is included in the package.
6Do I need to install a driver?
Windows 10/11 automatically detects the Intel BE200 chipset via Windows Update. For Linux, the iwlwifi drivers support the BE200 starting from kernel 6.5+. No CD or manual download required in most cases.
7Can I use the 6 GHz band in France?
Yes. The 6 GHz band has been authorized in France since 2021 for indoor WiFi (Low Power Indoor). The Intel BE200 card complies with European ETSI regulations. The 6 GHz band offers the least interference and the widest channels (320 MHz).
8What is the delivery time?
The WiFi 7 card is in stock and shipped within 24h (business days). Chronopost next-day delivery for mainland France. Orders placed before 2 PM shipped the same day.
